Looking for a vacation that won't break the bank? Well, if you live anywhere in the mid-Atlantic region, there is a place in Tennessee called Pigeon Forge. It is located in the mountains of eastern Tennessee and offers something for everyone.
Now, the town itself is nice enough, but they offer the familiar trappings of a popular tourist trap, so you have to look past those to find all the cool things that are a available. First of all, it is located in a valley, so the natural scenery really is the star. It is also located near a national forest, so anything outdoors is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Along with all of the natural beauty, there are plenty of the creature comforts that you want on a vacation. There are plenty of hotels, but the best way to enjoy the scenery to the fullest is to rent one of the many fully equipped cabins available. They range from small cabins for couples, all the way to giant cabins that you could accommodate a whole family and more. These cabins are available to rent by the day and by the week and vary depending what season you are visiting.
There are also many familiar chain restaurants in the area, where you and your family can enjoy your meals. At breakfast time you will have a hard time deciding which pancake restaurant to eat in, as there are so many available it has been said that there is one pancake restaurant for each visitor in the area.
The town does have its share of touristy things like go-carts and mini golfing and music shows, but they can be avoided if careful. One place that you will want to make a visit to is Dollywood. Dollywood is a theme park that offers all the regular stuff that you would expect at a theme park, thrill rides, food, a cool area for kids to play, but it offers something that most don't, down home friendly people who work there. Everyone that works there, from the people who run the rides, to the people who run the booths and drive the trams, everybody is really nice. Not fake nice like in the big city, but nice because they want to be. It is not a large park, but there are some really fun rides, but the real attraction are the people and the fun.
Traveling on international flights can cost a large sum of money. However, if you log onto www.expedia.com.au you can find Cheap Airfares to make your travel dreams come true.

It's summer time and a lot of us are going to start looking at taking trips. While most of the trips we go on are taken in the car, there are so many people who don't live close enough to vacation locations to drive and now that cash is tight, it is more hard to conserve money when vacationing.
Well, I say, don't dread airline costs. Right now vacations to Europe are actually inexpensive, particularly if you live near an airport with direct flights.
It's not only abroad where you'll find fine deals on airline tickets. You can in addition locate good deals through the continental U.S. Something I found out recently is that Southwest flies directly to Orlando, Florida. I always check prices on Southwest's website or JetBlue's websites before I check the travel websites like Expedia, Priceline, Orbitz, or Travelocity. Southwest and JetBlue are typically cheaper and more friendly in my opinion than the airlines that you can discover on additional travel websites.
The top way to conserve money on travel is to reserve well in advance. I was checking prices on a flight that was set for a Wednesday and it jumped 50% in two days (this was on one of the travel websites I mentioned earlier and not Southwest or Jet Blue). In this case, the more "in advance" you know that you're going, the better off your wallet will be.
You can't always rely on the travel websites either! You need to check with each separate airline. Most of the time the cost is the same, so you have to ask yourself if you would rather book from a third party like Orbitz or go directly with the airline? I feel more secure booking through the airline because I feel like if something were to go askew, it would be easier to deal with the airline then through the third party site.
When reserving your flight you in addition need to bear in mind which airlines charge fees for checked luggage. I am aware that Southwest and JetBlue do not charge fees for the first checked bag in coach class, but additional airlines do. This was news to me when I had to book a flight and found myself taking U.S. Airways because of the nearness to the airport I was arriving at. All airlines charge fees for bags that weigh over 50 lbs and they normally have bag size requirements as well. So if you're vacationing with another person, you can save some money on the baggage fee, but make sure that you check your airline's site or call up the airline to make sure that your luggage fits in the restrictions!
Happy vacation!
