The journey of the Coach brand started in 1941 with a little known designer named Bonnie Cashin. Her designs magnified the industry with retail collections that brought a breath of fresh air to fashion. Her designs were innovative for the time. They include eloquent and bright colors. Something that was not see to often during the 1940's. This innovation got her recognition and brought her designs into the spotlight making them a must have for all women. From 1941 and to the present, Coach handbags have managed to maintain their reputation for being the best, thus standing the test of time.
From humble beginning, it could not have been imagined that such a small business started in a New York loft would become such a well known and respected brand. As Coach grew the realized that they also needed a new location for its production. But they knew what made them famous. high-quality leather for the making of Coach handbags and took pride in using naturally-based substances for softening the leather. This idea came from the study of baseball gloves of this time. The designers were fascinated with how soft the leather was and implemented the concept for their creations.
Every company one time in another has problems. In the 1990's Coach had a high reputation of having a quality handbag but they still were not doing so well. Sales were dropping and the declined allowed less popular brands to take the lead over Coach. It seems that the market was looking at Coach as a more classic brand, a brand that was not keeping up with the times. Less popular brands started offering more innovative and interesting choices that the market found more attractive than the Coach brand. Coach needed to make a change. They went back to the drawing board and started producing up to dates styles alternatives that the public was looking for. These new designs were more radical then its previous collections. They had a new Coach fabric the had the letter C printed on them and were made both from leather and different fabrics. It did not take too long before Coach regained its popularity, with the Coach style becoming a genuine trademark.
The start of the 2000s brought even more benefits for Coach, with revenues increasing on a rapid basis. Introducing new styles and exciting patterns, Coach handbags became must-have items and a personal favorite of numerous celebrities. If Coach hadnt taken the decision to change, its history might never have been written. Today, the style, the quality and the leather are responsible for continuing the tradition of Coach handbags.
It all started with a small loft and a big dream. Today, the concept follows the same footsteps, with Coach handbags being elegant, classy and distinctive. There are Coach handbags designed for classic, casual and sport styles; others can be worn on the shoulder and are more comfortable. And the truth is that the variety of Coach products has grown along with the reputation of the brand name. Each and every Coach handbag is a testimony of the companys history. Just holding such a unique leather accessory represents a special moment. Imagine being able to wear one for each of your outfits!
