A Great TNQ Destination

Townsville's faultless blue skies ,long beachfront esplanade means that Queenslands third largest city retains the relaxed tropical atmosphere of its smaller counterparts. It is endowed with a grand coastal position, park lands, purpose built attractions, a lively cafe and restaurant scene and lofty Castle Hill, from whose peak you can survey the lot.

The Great Barrier Reef is just a few hours away out by a fast catamaran and its closeness has allowed Townsville to be increasingly recognized as a center for research into marine life. Reef HQ is home to the headquarters to The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. This underwater observatory is both informative and visually breathtaking. Its living reef is the largest captive reef in the world. Townsville is home to a major armed forces base and James Cook University, giving it a significant population of young adults and a better-than-average nightlife. Many o Townsville's pubs and bars serve food. Most of the action is along Flinders Street and winds down around 1am. There is also Jupiter's Casino, famous for its flashing neon faux fireworks, cinemas and nightclubs that are licensed until 5am. Restaurants are numerous and wherever you go seafood is always amazing. For dining with a view, head to C Bar which has a broad outdoor deck. Naked Fish is obviously famed for its seafood menu but also includes Cajun and Moroccan dishes.

In 1864, sea captain Robert Towns commissioned James Black to establish a settlement on Cleveland Bay to service the new inland cattle industry. The many historic buildings found around Cleveland Bay are a reminder of this heritage. It is still a major port for the beef and mining industries. A shameful claim to fame is that the same Robert Towns began the practice of black birding kidnapping Kanakas (South Sea Islanders) from their homeland and bringing them to Australia for cheap labor as European were considered inherently unsuited to work in the tropics .The Kanakas were primarily used in the Sugar Industry and were paid a pittance, housed in substandard accommodation and were given the most physically demanding jobs. The kidnapping was outlawed in 1868 and government ships were placed on all Kanakas ships to check that their emigration was voluntary but only in 1901 was the use of island labor completely stopped.

Magnetic Island is about 8km offshore, named by Captain Cook who erroneously believed that magnetic fields generated by the huge granite boulders he could see were causing problems with his compass. It has 2,500 inhabitants and is the only reef island with a significant permanent population. It has 12,000 acres of largely mountainous terrain includes lush and varied vegetation and almost half the island is designated as a national park. You can have a great day trip here or even stay overnight in private accommodation on offer and there are many walks around the island. Sandy bay is a great place for a swim or snorkel and you can see spectacular views from old WWII forts.

Bowling Green Bay National Park, a coastal park, offers much for the self-sufficient guest. Walk along Alligator Creek to see cascades and waterfalls. Stay overnight on the campsite and go spotlighting to see brush tail possums and sugar gliders. Granite Mountains blends a variety of landscapes including saltpans and mangrove country.

There are numerous queensland hotels for you to choose when planning a visit to TNQ. You can log onto www.tropicalnorthqueensland.com.au to find the cairns accommodation that is most suited for your vacation requirements.

A Visit To Tennessee Is Great Fun At An Affordable Price

Looking for a vacation that won't break the bank? Well, if you live anywhere in the mid-Atlantic region, there is a place in Tennessee called Pigeon Forge. It is located in the mountains of eastern Tennessee and offers something for everyone.

Now, the town itself is nice enough, but they offer the familiar trappings of a popular tourist trap, so you have to look past those to find all the cool things that are a available. First of all, it is located in a valley, so the natural scenery really is the star. It is also located near a national forest, so anything outdoors is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Along with all of the natural beauty, there are plenty of the creature comforts that you want on a vacation. There are plenty of hotels, but the best way to enjoy the scenery to the fullest is to rent one of the many fully equipped cabins available. They range from small cabins for couples, all the way to giant cabins that you could accommodate a whole family and more. These cabins are available to rent by the day and by the week and vary depending what season you are visiting.

There are also many familiar chain restaurants in the area, where you and your family can enjoy your meals. At breakfast time you will have a hard time deciding which pancake restaurant to eat in, as there are so many available it has been said that there is one pancake restaurant for each visitor in the area.

The town does have its share of touristy things like go-carts and mini golfing and music shows, but they can be avoided if careful. One place that you will want to make a visit to is Dollywood. Dollywood is a theme park that offers all the regular stuff that you would expect at a theme park, thrill rides, food, a cool area for kids to play, but it offers something that most don't, down home friendly people who work there. Everyone that works there, from the people who run the rides, to the people who run the booths and drive the trams, everybody is really nice. Not fake nice like in the big city, but nice because they want to be. It is not a large park, but there are some really fun rides, but the real attraction are the people and the fun.

Traveling on international flights can cost a large sum of money. However, if you log onto www.expedia.com.au you can find Cheap Airfares to make your travel dreams come true.

Rome Apartments: Up To Half Price & Heaps More Space

Before you start off on your next trip to Italy's capital, you'll need to think about where to stay. Most people end up in motel or hotel simply because they don't realize that they have any other options. However, these options do exist, and hotel accommodations, while easy to find, aren't always the best choice.

If you decide to go with hotel accommodations on your trip to Rome, you'll find that these places all have a few things in common: they're expensive, crowded, and rather small. Everyone stays in a hotel, or so the common wisdom goes, but you don't have to. A holiday apartment rental could let you save money and enjoy more space and privacy, too.

Instead of spending a lot on a suite, or dealing with the cramped conditions that come with cramming everyone into just one room, you could enjoy attractive surroundings and your own space. A hotel stay means that you're going to be experiencing Rome as a tourist, while an apartment lets you do it as a local. Most of us would prefer the more authentic option.

Pick an apartment with an attached terrace and dine over traditional Roman rooftops or the gorgeous skyline. Enjoy the space and comfort you're unlikely to get in a hotel, and the control over your living space you'll only get at home. After all, not everyone enjoys having strangers in to clean their room every day, or people interrupting their quality time in Rome.

Doing your research before you decide which apartment you want is a must, however. You're probably not going to run into exactly the same kind of apartment experience you can expect at home, and that could be a nasty surprise if you're not prepared. On the other hand, if you find out what you can expect from your rental company, you'll be ready, and your stay will be a great one.

You can also avoid having to deal with restaurants all the time by picking an apartment instead of a hotel. There are many wonderful local markets offering some of Italy's best ingredients - why not cook at home? Make eating out a special treat, and stick to home cooked food in your very own kitchen, but don't expect a stocked fridge.

A lot of apartments in Rome also have laundry facilities on site, so you don't have to pack too much, deal with the fees that come with extra luggage, or find a laundry on your own. Bring the clothes you need for a short time, and wash them in the comfort of your own apartment, without any inconvenience or extra cost.

If you're a truly independent traveler, you'll probably enjoy a holiday apartment instead of a hotel room. You get control over the area you stay in, the services you receive, and the day to day activities on your trip. Just book a day in advance if you'd like to try out some of the optional extra services.

If you want to see the real Rome for yourself and avoid the crowding, expense, and inconvenience of tourist hotels, an apartment rental might be just the thing you've been waiting for. Do your research and know what to expect, and you'll soon see that Rome apartments are a great alternative to the ordinary holiday.

Choose from our large range of Rome accommodation for the perfect place to celebrate your wedding or anniversary. At Rome-Accom.com, we offer hand-picked quality apartments, we all speak English, and you'll have the most wonderful Romantic experience of your life.

Getting the Most Out of Business Travel

If you are one of those people that believes business travel is dead then think again as it is on the increase and the main thing responsible for this growth is the Internet. With the global popularity of the Internet, even tiny companies can compete, and have customers anywhere. Strangely, this success of one medium is placing a strain on another - business travelers, who now find themselves constantly on the move around the world. This is why knowing a few helpful business travel tips can make all the difference between a stressful trip and a relaxing, productive one.

If you travel regularly, you will know the anxious feeling you have waiting in the arrivals lounge, not knowing whether or not your luggage has traveled with you, especially if it contains valuable business documents. The easiest way to ensure this situation does not affect you is by placing important business documents in your hand luggage. Although this can't stop your luggage that's in the hold from going missing - your meeting can still go ahead and your luggage can, after all, be replaced.

There is no need to take too much on a business trip and business travelers on take just what they need to see them through the few days they will be away and this way they are less likely to loose something valuable. The order of the day is simplicity: which means just enough business clothes for the trip and the same for the evenings so if the amount of footwear is restricted to one pair for business and one for pleasure then you will be keeping your luggage to minimum. The only thing you need after this is your toiletry bag and if there are any other work documents, files or brochures that could help you with your appointments but you could do without if necessary.

Another creative and efficient business travel tip that is often used by flight attendants when packing to compress clothing but not having so many creases in it is to roll up the clothes and put them into cylinders. No-one wants to show up at a meeting after spilling some coffee on their suit so try to always pack dark clothing which is less likely to show any stains should this occur. If you're on a business trip, attending meetings at just a moment's notice is normal so even if you face the usual delays you don't have to compromise the need to freshen up and one easy way to do that is to have those hand and face wipes that come in travel packs.

Although most cell phones have very good standby and talk times now, you will need to make sure it and any other electronic equipment are charged up before you go on your journey. If you use your flight time productively and prepare for your appointment you will be able to explore the city you have journeyed to (possibly for the first time) instead or working in your hotel room. If you want to continue on your business travel with your plans alongside setting aside any delays or trouble, then you might consider these tips as they can provide you an assurance and helpful information whenever you need it. If you want to be more productive and enjoy your business travel you might like to deem over the business travel tips highlighted here as they can really be of use to you especially if you are able to muddle up a little personal relaxation time with your work.
