New Zealand is an island country consisting of two main islands known as the north and south islands. New Zealand lies in the southern hemisphere in the south west of the Pacific Ocean. The flightless kiwi bird is a native of New Zealand and also it's national bird. New Zealand was a colony, and is still a member colony of the United Kingdom.

Auckland is the major city on the north island of New Zealand. It is believed that there are more boat owners as compared to the car owners in Auckland since the people of Auckland are in love with the sea. There are several places to visit within and around Auckland. Auckland does have a museum and there is a zoo too, however the place that is a must see is the Kelly Tariton's Antarctica and underwater world where you are able to see thousands of fishes and an astonishing Antarctica discovery. Where else on earth would you get a possibility to see penguins living in fresh snow and ice!

The sky tower of Auckland is 328 meters in height and has a large number of luxurious dining restaurants and a casino on the ground floor. The view from the peak of the tower of Auckland and its surrounds is superb. The Victoria park market is over a century old and still depicts the typical life of a market. The shops and stalls here display a wide range of handicrafts, artwork, and mementos.

On the west coast is the largest all weather glacier center and is simply one of its kind in the southern hemisphere. You can also experience the indoor ice climbing which would be only one of its kind experiences. To experience the real outdoor trip on a glacier while on the west coast, take a guided tour all along the longest glacier on the west coast. Those who are the nature lovers there are adventurous trails and walking tracks that offer some tremendous views on the west coast.

New Zealand has a lot to offer, and the choices vary depending on the mood and interest of the visitor. From adventure to wineries with sheep farming, there is something for everyone. New Zealand has one of the best maritime parks and offers a rare treat to sea whales, dolphins, and penguins.

Also in the south island, there are a lot of fascinating places to visit. New Zealanders love the sea so there countless water sports facilities such as diving, sailing and swimming. There are several prearranged sightseeing tours, visits to attractive places, and no doubt plenty of golf courses for golfers.

Getting around New Zealand is not at all difficult as it has excellent air and very good transportation facilities. There is ample accommodation available in New Zealand. New Zealand is entirely developed and has a flourishing economy.

New Zealanders adore sports, mainly rugby and cricket. There striking rivals are the Australians who are also their closest neighbors. It's a wonderful country to visit, and there are lots to see and do in New Zealand.
