Taking a Travel Tour

by Ken Morris

Travel guides are available in many cities, both large and small. If you want to learn more about certain monuments or districts, joining a tour group is one option. Tour prices vary depending on city, length, and the number of people in your party. Popular tours in Washington DC and San Francisco and other parts of California will take you to famous areas, bridges, monuments, and other historical landmarks and give you a background on each of them.

Washington DC has many monuments, parks, museums, and neighborhoods to visit. Even though there is plenty of public transportation, you may not know which areas to visit first. Guided tours of the city are available if you want to avoid relying on public transportation or driving through the city. It is difficult to see the sights when you have to worry about navigating your way through a strange city, so taking a tour will allow you to relax and focus on sightseeing. Tours are available both day and night and cover such monuments as the Washington monument, Capitol Hill, the White House, and many more.

Other cities like San Francisco also have tours that you can take when visiting. Tours of Alcatraz, the famous island prison located in the San Francisco Bay, Chinatown, and other neighborhoods in the area are available. You will be able to take great pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and see beautiful views of the ocean. Tour buses run during the day and at night.

When booking tours, you should find one or two that interest you. Many tours are theme related, so choose a theme that everyone in your group will want to participate in. On the tour, you will be able to ask questions, learn about the history of the area, monuments, and other facts.

Tour guides have been trained to answer most questions. Along the way, the tour bus will stop and let you out to see monuments up close, take pictures, and get something to eat. Make sure you know where the bus will pick up and how long you have before it leaves.

Depending on the size of your group, you may need to make reservations before your trip. For smaller groups, you can buy tickets the same day or the day before. Tour groups are located throughout larger cities. Most hotels have a listing of tour companies that are close by. You can research tours online in order to get a better idea of some of the tours that available.

If you don't want to take a bus tour, walking tours are also available. These tours will take you through certain historic neighborhoods and usually center around food, historical events, or time periods. Walking tours may require you to walk five miles or more, so ask in advance and be sure to stretch before you begin. Taking a walking tour is a great way to see smaller neighborhoods and learn more about the city you are visiting.

Travel Insurance

by Matthew Kepnes

Buying travel insurance is something every traveler should do. Many problems could happen while overseas and many regular insurance plans wont cover you overseas. If you aren't covered when you travel, you should buy travel insurance for your trip. Moreover, travel insurance cover more than just you but all those accidents and problems you might face on the road.

You should also be aware of what is not covered and exclusions. Travel insurance policies do not normally cover alcohol or drug related incidents, or carelessness in handling your possessions and baggage. You won't get reimbursed if the problem happened because you were reckless.

Travel insurance often covers health problems that happen on the road. Dont buy a plan that doesnt or won't protect you from illness. If you get sick on the road, you want to make sure you are covered, especially if you are injured during an outdoor trek and need to be airlifted somewhere- those airlifts are expensive. You do not want to have to cover the costs of that yourself.

If you have to make a claim, remember travel insurance companies are a business and will drag their feet to avoid making the payout. Make sure you have all your receipts and necessary forms. Be prepared to wait awhile to get your payment as their can always be some reason and some loophole that delays payment.

There are a lot of travel insurance companies out there. Some of the best travel insurance companies are STA Travel, World Nomads. Depending on your needs and requirements, one of these companies will meet your requirements. Remember to always read the find print in any contract and agreement before you sign it because if something goes wrong, you don't want to be the victim of a legal loophole.

No matter what your needs it is important that you buy travel insurance before you go away, especially if you are going away for an extended amount of time. You never what could happen, what could get lost or stolen or who could get sick with what. It is better to be safe than sorry for the few dollars travel insurance costs per day, it is a worthwhile expense.

Holiday Trip Insurance

by Peter Wilson

Buying single trip holiday insurance is a good idea if you are planning to take a trip to another country because most health insurance plans to not cover this type of travel. If you plan happens to cover you when traveling, find out how much they cover and how they provide coverage.

Most companies will reimburse you for a certain amount, which means you have to pay all costs upfront at the time when medical treatment is administered. This can be very costly, especially if you don't have much in savings or you can't access your savings account.

Single trip holiday insurance is easy to purchase and can last for your entire trip. When looking for this type of insurance, find out the overall cost, how much coverage you and your family will receive, and when the insurance will take effect. Rad over all documents before signing them and keep a copy of your policy with you while traveling. Most insurance policies include phone numbers or instructions when filing a claim.

It is unfortunate the most health insurance companies do not tell people they do not offer full coverage when traveling to another country. This is why is it very important to find out more information before booking your trip to Costa Blanca, Spain or Anchorage, Alaska. You can purchase holiday trip insurance from private companies, travel agents, cruise lines, or you may be able to purchase additional insurance from your health provider. Make sure you buy enough to ensure you and your family are covered under the policy.

In addition to covering medical expenses, you can also buy coverage that covers other aspects of your trip including the replacement of lost or stolen luggage, cancellation fees if you need to reschedule your trip or if you need to cancel it, and emergency evacuation assistance in case you need to leave the area you are staying in due to natural disaster.

Since you can never predict what will happen on your vacation, having additional insurance can help you pay for medical treatment and other expences when you are traveling. If you travel often, you may want to consider buying annual holiday insurance, which covers you for the entire year.

It’s a Red Hot Chili Event!

by Mercie Hallow

Chili Pepper is commonly known as a vegetable but it is actually a spice used to improve and add zest to the taste of dishes. In some countries all over the world, chili peppers are used as table sauces that are directly eaten together with the meal. Sounds hot, isnt it? There are countries and regions that have chili peppers as part of their kitchen staples. No meal will be complete without it! Lets just say that chili is always a part of their family recipe, a meal is not a meal without a chili.

Chili peppers have a chemical component known as Capsaicin which is responsible for the chilis hot taste. Capsaicin in a one piece of chili can be washed down by gulping down a glass of milk. A Beer-y Special Day in Arizona

by Mercie Hallow

A bottle of beer is oftentimes considered as a mans drink. Some says that beer is a real machos drink. Beer commercials nowadays feature an oh-so-lucky guy with a drop dead gorgeous goddess for a companion and a luxury car to complete the backdrop. A very lucky guy indeed but that is how beer is marketed nowadays: the drink of a real man.

Beers are manufactured in a manufacturing plant called brewery. They are processed through brewing where the two main ingredients (water and malt) are mixed together in a huge machine. The starch in the mixture is then broken down to sugar and transformed to an alcoholic drink through fermentation process with the help of yeast.

Beer festivals are much awaited events by fun loving people. Beer festivals often showcase beer tasting portions, beer bazaars, live bands, fun and exciting games. There are certain rules that need to be followed in attending these events though. Adults over the age of 21 are only allowed to enter which is always backed up by an ID. Pets and firearms are banned from the festival.

The Great Arizona Festival is an annual beer festival where proceeds will go to the Arizona Sun Sounds, a media arm of the state of Arizona for visually challenged/ impaired individuals. The Arizona Sun Sounds is a radio channel that features useful present information for people who have disability in seeing current issues over the papers.

The Great Arizona Beer festival also has a special place for drivers who do not drink just so they could drive home safely. They are being regarded in the festival as conscientious individuals. To make the drivers stay at the festival fun and worthy, the special place allotted for them has its own music, kiosks and fun events too. This is so that these drivers can enjoy their stay too.
