When one is making travel plans the one place that is close to the United States is the wonderful country of Canada. Complete with its majestic mountains, lakes and other attractions it is one of the most exciting countries to visit in the world. Bordered by the Pacific, Atlantic and Arctic oceans, it is the second largest country in the world, second only to Russia.
The history of Canada is fascinating. Aboriginal people originally occupied the land and, after various explorations by European countries a United Kingdom Federal Domination was formed in 1867. It was in 1982 that it took action and severed dependence on the British Parliament. As large as the country is it only has 31 million people, which leaves a vast amount of unoccupied territory.
Canada's official languages are English and French. Quebec has the largest concentration of French speaking people but anyone visiting the country can find an interpreter if they speak neither of those languages. Ottawa is the capital of Canada and Toronto is the largest city. The Canadian Parliament is located in Ottawa and tours can be arranged to personally witness Parliamentarian Debates in person.
Canada has 10 provinces and three territories. The Yukon, Northwest and Nunavut are Canada's three territories, some of which remain largely uninhabited. There are approximately 10,000,000 square kilometers of wilderness that many people using an RV, tent or trailer find to be a wonderful opportunity to explore the unknown.
The majority of the country's population is located along the southern border, abutting the United States. This has offered an excellent exchange of visitations and introduction to the customs of another country. Friendly relationship between these two countries has existed from the very beginning and continues today with great cooperation between the border patrols and visitations across the borders.
The snow peaks of the Rocky Mountains, as well as many other locations, are excellent for the many people who enjoy snow sports. Because of its cool temperature, snow does not melt very rapidly making it excellent for all types of this activity. Many visitors enjoy renting a Skidoo and going on one of its many trails available throughout the country. This is a favorite activity with many people and the proper equipment, including a balaclava, is available.
The winter Olympics were recently held in Canada and people throughout the world were able to see the beautiful scenery that is predominant throughout the country. In addition to the mountains, Canada has spacious wheat fields, beautiful lakes and other natural attractions. In addition, its residents go out of their way to make people feel comfortable and enjoy their visit which is very much appreciated by their visitors.
Many sports enthusiasts enjoy canoeing or kayaking on one of its beautiful lakes or rivers. There are many different places that one can rent a craft, enjoy going down a waterway at one's leisure, and drink in the beauty of the area. It is a return to the wilderness that one seldom finds in today's modern society. There are many tours available for one to explore this lovely country. Because of its size, it would take several visits to be able to take in even a small part of this vast wilderness unless one wanted to spend a great deal of time on their visit. It is like taking a step back in time before huge cities and developments have taken over so much of the land. If one is planning to travel and experience a different type of adventure this is definitely the place to go.
There are many ways that people can travel, you can fly to your destination, drive, or take a train. The best place to start your vacationing plans is to go online or visit a travel agent.

Even a cheap weekend getaway cruise will allow you to visit at least one island in the Bahamas.
When you arrive in the Bahamas you'll find a special culture. Exotic and familiar it's a blend of African and European influences. If you just associate it with steel drums you're only getting a small part of the picture. You'll hear lots of different types of unique musice like calypso rake scrape and Junkanoo. The endless beaches and warm sun are by far the stars of the show. But you should definitely make time for water sports like diving glass bottom boat tours snorkeling and submarine tours. Don't miss the charming markets where you can shop for palm frond baskets bags hats and other crafts. Avid golfers will find some of the most beautiful courses anywhere while others can experience the magic of swimming with dolphins.
One of the first islands people usually visit is Nassau since it is a mere fifty miles from Florida. Most find a familiar yet exotic feel to this island thanks to its British Colonial heritage. Because everyone drives on the left side of the road and the police officers wear uniforms in the English style it feels very European. However once you see the modern resorts and incredible beaches you know you are in the tropics.
Whether you seek relaxation on the beach or adventure a cruise to the Bahamas is the perfect vacation. Just a little research will yield some cheap cruises to fit your budget. You can save your money for the fun activities and shopping at all the ports in your cruise to the Bahamas.

Crater Lake Oregon is a deep lake that is located in the collapsed center of an inactive volcano. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth to visit.
Crater Lake is located in Southern Oregon, just north of the California border and one hundred miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. The lake is inside a caldera, a volcanic basin. That basin was created over 7700 years ago after the last eruption of Mt. Mazama.
Due to its high elevation and the moisture dropped from the air as it cools over the Cascade mountain range, Crater Lake receives over 500 inches of snow each year. The snow replaces any water that evaporates from the lake which has no inlets or outlets. These work in concert to keep the lake depth at the same depth below the rim at most of the time.
Crater Lake is 1943 feet deep and is the deepest lake located in the U. S and ranks number seven in depth worldwide.
Summertime visitors to the lake are able to drive around the entire lake rim. In about October, the snows start to fall and North Rim Drive has to be closed. It does not usually open back until mid-June. South rim village is open on most days even through the winter. Visitors may have to walk through tunnels in the snow in order to visit the gift shop or the restaurant. Crater Lake lodge is also located in South Rim Village.
If you want to see Crater Lake closely, then you will need to wait until summer when you can hike down a trail to the lake's surface. From this spot you can also take a boat ride across the lake to Wizard Island.
You will find campgrounds located inside Crater Lake National Park and in several of the surrounding areas. If you plan on camping at Crater Lake, remember that nights can be quite cold even in the summer. Bring lots of warm clothing and sleeping bags. There are also campgrounds at Diamond Lake and Stewart State park that offer relatively easy access to crater lake.
Because of the weather differences at Crater Lake and the surrounding valleys, it is best to call ahead about the weather before making a visit to the park. This is especially true in the Autumn, winter and spring months. Mild days on the valley floors can be severe winter days at the park. You do not want to drive up the mountain to have to turn around before ever reaching the Lake because you do not have chains or other traction devices.
When driving to Crater Lake from Interstate 5, take the Highway 62 exit (Exit 30) off of I-5. Plan to take a couple of hours in each direction. There are several hotels in Medford around exit 30, with the newer hotels near the Airport. The newest hotels in the Medford area are located at exit 27, where a new highway interchange has given rise to several nice new hotels.

What usually comes to mind with a cruise vacation is the sand and surf somewhere tropical. Risk takers go off to Alaska or other places northward in summer to satisfy their curiosity for wildlife and a different environment. The more daring however might wind up picking altogether different spots. This year could be good for visiting Antarctica. People who need further convincing about cruising Antarctica should continue reading this article.
Human hands have not touched awesome Antarctica which explains its current state of preservation. Varied wildlife can be found here along with some of the most impressive sights on earth. You might actually enjoy an Antarctica cruise as there are many upsides to exploring this White Continent. You will not regret taking this trip as it lets you relax while at the same time educating you about the wonders of Antarctica.
The place is freezing cold but this is not to say that no animal can withstand such conditions and survive. There are several chances to observe wildlife while traveling to Antarctica that include frolicking seals or penguins on ice and breaching whales next to the ship. It is believed that the months between December to March are the best for watching wild animals native to the area.
Antarctica gives you a double dose of great scenic backdrops and interesting wildlife while aboard the ship. You will see breathtaking icecaps and lots of whales gliding through the water plus other spectacles while heading south to this continent. There is also the added pleasure for you of viewing a seemingly endless expanse of water. An Antarctic cruise is extremely peaceful since there are no human interruptions to deal with and only the sounds of wild animals for comfort.
Should you go cruise to Antarctica remember that the trip takes quite a while compared to others. Although a typical cruise takes 10 days some sailing vessels take over a month to complete. You also have to consider travel time to the arrival area and this is usually somewhere exotic like Argentina. When not lazing about on deck these trips offer lots of opportunities for participating in bold adventures that are also quite educational. Antarctica travel cruises allow you to gain in depth knowledge about the continent through various seminars or classes provided during the trip.
Antarctica trip schedules are irregular and ships are made small because of the rugged ride ahead so it can only hold a limited number of passengers. Over one hundred people can ride in most vessels but the smaller ones handle less. There are usually no cruises scheduled from April until October because of unsuitable travel weather so most of them occur during what is left of the year. If you can book Antarctica travel cruises now please do so.
The long trip aboard a tiny ship gives you chance to get to know other passengers so the experience becomes something extremely personalized and unforgettable. Quarters are usually roomy aboard arctic cruise vessels and the dinners impressive. Recognized cruise ship firms usually offer trips to Antarctica so there are no surprises once you opt to reserve tickets. People who prefer a closer look at the available Antarctica wildlife and rugged setting ought to choose smaller cruises specializing in adventure trips.
It is truly an experience that has no equal to travel to Antarctica. People who want their next breaks from work to happen in this location should start booking tickets soon to avoid having to pick over leftover travel plans and cabins. Feel the excitement as you travel through water to an exceptional place.

Having dinner outside of the home used to be a rare event for families and couples. It was once a treat for special occasions such as birthdays, Mothers Day, Valentines Day-etc. Today, because of our busy lifestyles, eating dinner out has now become a common event with people eating out 2 or 3 times a week. With so many consumers choosing to dine out instead of staying at home, there has been an increase in different types of eating establishments. One method of eating out that is becoming popular is having dinner on a cruise.
Dining on a dinner cruise boat is much different than dining in a traditional restaurant. When you have dinner on a cruise, you have the opportunity to relax, and enjoy traveling on the water while watching the beautiful scenery along the shoreline. Also, you can gaze at the sun set, the moon and stars, making the dinner not only relaxing, but romantic. With restaurants, you basically have the same environment to look at so you end up spending most of the time focused on your food.
After the meal, instead of paying the bill and leaving, like you would do in a restaurant, you can get up and take a leisurely stroll around the deck. It is particularly special on warm breezy evenings with a full moon glistening on the open water. It makes the dinner much more enjoyable and memorable. People who eat out at restaurants 3 times a week tend not to have special memories. It has become more of way of just getting something to eat.
With many restaurants, you often have to wait in line to get a table. On a dinner cruise, there will be staff members waiting to greet you and help you board the boat. Dinners on a cruise are prepared by the best chefs using the highest quality foods and ingredients. Courteous and attentive staff will cater to all of your needs. You will also have access to the best wines and other beverages. There may also be complete buffet. The costs are included when you book the dinner cruise so you dont have to worry about getting an unexpected expensive bill. Dinner cruises are affordable and you know the upfront costs prior to boarding the boat. All of the meals are freshly prepared aboard the boat.
There are also additional services that will be provided on a dinner cruise that you will not usually find in a restaurant. Not only do you get a spectacular view, but you can also have elegant table linens and china, live music or a DJ, first class service and food, air-conditioned and spacious dining, seated or buffet dining, and cocktail service. You will also be served delicious Hors d'oeuvres and mouth watering desserts.
In restaurants, you often have to put up with noisy customers, clanking of kitchen dishes, crowded tables, slow service, waiting for a table, and dirty bathrooms. Dinner cruises maintain the highest standard of care for all aspects of the dining experience making your dinner cruise beautiful, delicious, relaxing, and clean.
Passenger safety is of the highest priority for staff of a dinner cruise. All boats are inspected annually to meet safety requirements. As well, they are equipped with fire fighting devices, life saving gear, first aid equipment, life jackets, and communication devices. All members of the crew are trained in emergency protocols and CPR.
If you are bored with the regular routine of dining at restaurants, a dinner boat cruise may be the solution. Spend a romantic time with your partner, or give your children an exciting evening out. It is one experience that you wont forget.
Toronto boat cruises offers a wide variety of themes and entertainment. Book cruises in Toronto for your next corporate or private event and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Toronto Harbour.

We look at Hawaii in this installment of our cruise holidays guide...
Going to Hawaii and getting to partake in the island customs is a trip in a lifetime for many people. There is nothing more exhilarating than traveling the ocean blue in search of the tropical islands of Hawaii and her sister islands. And it's such a paradise, too! Beautiful women with sarongs dancing on the beach, palm trees laden with coconuts and tropical drinks down by the gently lapping waves is what you will get to experience on a Hawaiian cruise.
If you are from North American, you can pick any port to leave from on the west coast. Vancouver, Seattle and San Diego are the main ports of departure to Hawaii, although several of the other ports up and down the coastline offer cruise services to Hawaii too.
Hawaii cruise vacations normally comprise of a round-trip of 15-18 days and take in Hawaii and one or two ports on the other islands in the group. But you can always pay for a one-way trip to Hawaii on a cruise ship and then fly to your next destination from her international airport.
If you are looking for a longer vacation, most companies can extend the trip to 25-30 days, and perhaps even more. If you want to experience all that Hawaii has to offer, these extended trips can offer amazing adventures into some of the other islands such as Lanai, Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.
Even if you are the more restless type who does not enjoy lazing around in front of a pool simply taking in the sun, Hawaiian cruises can offer on land adventures to satisfy you. On the Big Island itself you can turn intrepid adventurer and explore the dormant volcanoes of Mauna Kea or the smaller Kilauea crater. If this doesn't sound like a good time then you can always tour the skies with a helicopter or plane ride to view Hawaii's lush landscapes from a different perspective.
On the south end of Hawaii near Kona is a botanical walk through the Kona Cloud Forest. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a variety of watersports, or take a passenger submarine to explore the area's 25-acre coral reefs.

From the ancient days of the Egyptian pharaohs, river Nile has been a top destination in Egypt travel. Luxury cruises in the Nile are today among the most enjoyable activities while on holiday in Egypt. The cruise affords you the chance to see most of the historical sites of ancient Egypt along the banks of the Nile, while enjoying your Egypt vacation in a relaxed manner. Fully equipped with restaurants, discotheques, lounge bars, shops and swimming pools, the Nile cruise ships are in actual sense floating hotels.
A typical luxury cruise ship in the Nile has air-conditioned rooms, though the rooms are slightly smaller than those of ordinary Egypt hotels based on land. The rooms have adequate space for twin beds, a private shower, nightstand and dresser, and a television. Like hotels and lodges, the cruisers are star graded according to their quality. Most of the top rated (5-star) cruisers are nearly as equipped as the luxury ocean cruise ships. Many travelers to Egypt agree that the Nile cruisers' romance setting is superior to that of any other riverboats in the world.
Nile cruises may take three nights, four nights, or seven nights. On the trip, you will get to see a good number of the important sites and monuments of ancient Egypt especially on the more popular and considerably shorter cruise between Luxor and Aswan. If you are on a budget or have an adventurous heart, you may opt for sailing the Nile in a felluca " the traditional nile sailing vessels. The felluca option lacks most of the amenities of the luxury boats, but helps you save on costs.
One of the best starting points for your Nile cruise is Aswan city. The deep and calm river Nile is at its most glorious at Aswan, a city that has for long been the gateway between Egypt and the Southern parts of Africa. The region from Aswan southwards was often referred to as Upper Egypt, being upstream of the Nile. Further downstream, the Nile goes through hard rock surface, resulting in cataracts and rapids.
Aswan is the home of a dark-skinned people, the Nubians, who are related to the people of Northern Sudan. The Nubian museum is one of the historical attractions in Aswan. The museum highlights the culture of Nubians from ancient days. At Elephantine island, you can also see a number of traditional Nubian villages.
Kom Ombo is another historical site along the Nile, situated about 48km north of Aswan. Its main attraction is the Greco-Roman temple, whose construction was started in the second century BC by Ptolemy VII. A number of successive Roman emperors contributed to completing its construction, including emperor Augustus around 30BC.
The Temple of Kom Ombo actually consists of two separate temples, each with its own entrance, colonnades, hypostyle hall and sanctuary. The southern temple is dedicated to Sobek -the crocodile god, while the northern one honours Horus - the falcon god. If you have not seen mummies before, be sure to see the mummified crocodiles in the Sobek part of the temple.
Your next stop and highlight of the Nile cruise is Luxor. The range, magnificence and diversity of the monuments in the Luxor area is unsurpassed in all of Egypt. Known to the Greeks as Thebes, Luxor became the capital of Egypt at around 2040 BC. The city survived the sacking by the Assyrians in the 7th century BC, but steadily declined, and was finally destroyed by the Romans in the first century BC.
Among the celebrated monuments dating from Luxors heydays are the necropolis complexes at the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and Tombs of the Nobles. You will also come across some outstanding temples scattered in the region. The Egyptians buried their dead in the direction of the setting sun and the west bank at Luxor was the final resting place of royalty and high officials.
The best time to take a Nile cruise is over the cooler months of November to March. These are also the peak months and it is advisable to start out early each day to avoid crowds. When visiting the monuments, you are advised to hire a guide who will explain the historical context at each site. The services of a guide are usually included on a Nile Cruise package.
